Concepting / Prototyping: I have developed my concepting and prototyping skills to be able to receive a client brief and work closely with them to create a game that meets their needs and UX. I conceptualise the outcomes needed and work on the C2G principle, creating some initial ideas, gaining feedback and then developing those ideas further into a gold standard product. Taking it from Concept 2 Gold.
Self-Driven Determination: I relentlessly push myself and have a self-drive determination to improve my abilities and skills continually. This is also reflected in my approach to work, where I give 110% towards any project and try and create the best outcome possible. In my mind, anything is achievable with the right mindset and dedication.
Software Adaptability: I have used many different types of software over the years, and I have intuitively been able to apply myself and adapt quickly to them. Over the years I have gained a vast knowledge of software applications used within the game development community, including game engines such as Unity, modelling software like Blender and Maya and project management software, Trello and Hack-n-Plan.
Project Management / Organisation: My formal education helped me understand the importance of a structured project management approach that identifies the key stakeholders, processes, tasks and documentation needed to execute the project and meet its objective. I have developed those skills, applying that discipline in all my projects, no matter how big or small.
Time management: Working in game design, you can quickly expend time wastefully. I have an innate sense of time management and focus on meeting deadlines and agreed timeframes. When time frames are unachievable, I am pragmatic in my approach, looking at negotiating new time frames or identifying elements that are not needed.
Communication: Communication is essential for any group project or work environment to function. I strive to communicate effectively and efficiently with others; whether through text, project forums or directly in person, I am a good communicator. I love to receive feedback on where I need to improve and how I could do better. I also provide constructive feedback to others.
